Cycle Scheme Admin Fees
When we provide a bike via any Cycle to Work scheme, the provider of the cycle scheme charges a upfront redemption fee. As a small batch manufacturer of hand built bikes, often with customised specifications, we therefore add the admin fee to your purchase, to cover our costs. The overall savings and benefits of using the scheme for you still remain considerable. Here is a list of the most common schemes and associated redemption fees:
- Green Commute Initiative – 5% + VAT
- Bike2Work – 10%
- CycleScheme – 10% or £300, whichever is less
- Cycle Solutions – 12%
- Vivup – 12.5%
- Halfords Cycle2Work - 15%
Green Commute Initiative
We've chosen the Green Commute Initiative to be our primary Cycle to Work scheme partner. GCI is a great not-for-profit who keep their fees reasonable and and their admin straightforward. We recommend GCI for your Gloria Cycling purchase if you have the option, otherwise we are of course happy to work with the other schemes for you. Some reasons why we think the GCI is great:
- No spending cap (some schemes have a £1,000 cap)
- No scheme final exit fees
- Depending on your tax rate, you’ll save either 28%, 42% or 47% on the cost of the package.
- Pay monthly through salary sacrifice with no added interest.
- Choose a repayment period between 3 and 60 months, in agreement with your employer.
Save or Upgrade, you get to choose!
With the cycle schemes you can save up to 47% on new bike builds. Not only are you able to enjoy this saving but you can also use your cycle scheme voucher for choosing a range of upgrades that are now within your reach. How about upgrading to electronic shifting, or carbon wheels? Or even to add a second wheelset, enabling you to switch between 700c and 650b wheels to suit conditions. You can even add clothing or accessories to your overall package if you so wish!
How to place your Cycle to Work order at Gloria Cycling
1. Choose your model, specifications, upgrades, and accessories. Need advice? Just ask, we’re always here to help.
2. Order via the Gloria Cycling website. In the ‘Order Notes’ section, let us know which Cycle to Work scheme you’ll be using; either our recommended partner, Green Commute Initiative, or your own choice.
3. Follow the website prompts to pay your build deposit and secure your build.
4. Once your voucher is approved by your scheme provider, forward it to us at shop@gloriacycling.com. We’ll then confirm your spec and get started on building your bike. Once complete we will ship to you or notifiy you to come collect from Gloria HQ.
